Brainstormers Wanted:

I've been working on my bm 2003 project for a couple months now (!) and have reached a point where I would like to gather a few creative types to help me brainstorm a general look-perhaps in fitting with this year's theme.

It all started with an 8' hollow fiberglass sphere I rescued from destruction. I'm really into spheres and globes in particular, so I am planning on repainting the fire engine red ball as a globe. The top half has a 2' round opening.

The plan is to build a support structure of some sort to get it up above the playa and to allow the sphere to rotate freely. Limited numbers of participants may also be able to climb up and inside of the sphere to 'run' around like a hamster in a ball.

I've built a temporary mount in my backyard using 3 'socketed' bowling balls that will help me make some needed repairs to the top half of the ball and strengthen it. (The link below leads to a directory with a couple 3D renderings of what this looks like today-roughly.)

Some topics I'd like to brainstorm:
1. The support structure
2. Transporting such a huge monster to NV
3. Ways to entice interactivity
4. What does 'beyond belief' mean to you?If there are some interested folk, I'd like to pick a weekend day soon to gather at my place in San Jose and shoot some shit.

(In addition to BM folk, I'd also like to find at least one person who really knows their way around fiberglass and fiberglass repair. Probably someone into boats...)

If this has any appeal, send me a response.

The renderings of the temporary mount can be seen here (though you may have a tough time figuring out what some of them are trying to show).
