Richard Jones
A native of Wisconsin, Richard has lived in Santa Cruz since 1975. "I heard of Burning Man many years ago and finally made it to the playa in '99," he says. "Returned every year since of course. Felt like I'd found home. Since '01 I've been part of the Art Department and the Black Rock Gazette as a shooter. That's photographer to some. I've been a shooter for at least 35 years now. Kind of got to where I like it and feel like I know what I'm doing, sometimes. Great way to meet people, too. Especially with the digital camera. Sometimes ponder the "No Spectators" versus photographing conundrum. So I wade in and participate as I shoot."
